Mapoon Aboriginal Shire Council advises that due to high demand, it is strongly recommended that all people intending to camp at Cullen Point BOOK ONLINE prior to driving into Mapoon.
Once you have booked your site, please print your receipt and then, place this on your vehicle’s dashboard so Rangers know that you have paid.
Mapoon is a remote community and does not have a 24-hour reception desk. Please ensure you book prior to avoid fines or disappointment.

There are camping and rest areas located across the Mapoon Shire region where overnight camping is allowed. Camping and overnight stays are only allowed in approved locations.
Penalties apply for illegal camping.
Camping is not permitted on public land, parks, and foreshores. This includes camping in a tent, in a vehicle, or on the ground.
